Morocco Participates in Hannover Messe Fair in Germany

Morocco participated in the Hannover Messe fair on Tuesday in Hannover, a city in northern Germany. The exhibition is the world’s largest industrial technology trade fair and is held annually at the city’s exhibition center.

Initiated by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), the Moroccan Pavilion provided an opportunity for the Agency to showcase, under the banner of the investment and export brand “Morocco Now,” the strengths and opportunities of the Kingdom in terms of investing in future industries.

During a visit to the Moroccan Pavilion, the Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli–who is currently spearheading an exhibit to disseminate the Moroccan brand in Germany–commended the Kingdom’s participation in the Hannover Messe, which will be concluded on April 26.

“Our presence will promote Morocco’s vision and major initiatives, particularly in electric mobility and renewable energies, and will highlight our commitment to hydrogen,” the minister said.

Director General of AMDIE Ali Seddiki also expressed delight that this major global event in the industrial sector is bringing together nearly 200 industrial employers, including from Morocco.

Seddiki added that Morocco has set ambitious goals for decarbonization, industrial investment, and the development of the green hydrogen sector.

He also noted that the Kingdom is meeting global demands for decarbonization and is currently positioning itself as a highly attractive destination for investors looking to contribute to this global objective through investments in the country.

Saddiki went on say that in order to support Moroccan companies in exporting their products and services, AMDIE works to facilitate their participation in such events, thereby enabling them to showcase their products and expertise, through the facilitation meetings with international clients, Seddiki stated.

The pavilion houses Moroccan companies along with AMDIE members to showcase Morocco’s economic landscape to foreign visitors.

The New Investment Charter, printed in multiple languages, is available for visitors, accompanied by a QR Code system providing access to additional resources for a better understanding of the Moroccan economy.

After visiting the Moroccan Pavilion, Senior Vice President of Deutsche Messe Annika Klar welcomed Jazouli, before engaging in a series of meetings with representatives of multinational industrial companies such as specialists in electrical, electronic, and industrial automation technologies, including the likes of Phoenix Contact, Siemens, Dassault Systèmes, Rittal, and Bosch Rexroth.

The minister concluded the second day of this Moroccan campaign in Germany by holding a meeting with the Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economy and Climate, Robert Habeck.

Jazouli and Klar disscussed ways to materialize the strikingly unique parallels between the Moroccan and German economies through joint projects, particularly with respect to green energy and electric mobility.

Following the promotional tour in Spain at the end of January, the 2024 tour to promote Morocco as a destination for foreign investors and clients continues in Germany, featured from April 22-25.

Organized by AMDIE in collaboration with the Moroccan Embassy in Germany, this event occurs in a specific context marked by the launch of the “Moroccan Offer” and the implementation of several strategic investment agreements in the electric battery sector aiming to establish a national green automotive ecosystem, which could be strengthened with leading German operators.

The tour includes meetings with German decision-makers, investors, and institutions, and visits to industrial sites, as well as a “Morocco Now” conference in Munich under the theme “Creating Synergies for Sustainable Partnerships.”
