Moroccan women’s national team dropped to 59th spot in the latest International Football Federation (FIFA) rankings released on Friday.
In Africa, the Atlas Lionesses, tallying 1426.09 points, now occupy the 3rd position, behind Nigeria (1st place) and South Africa (2nd).
The Atlas Lionesses created history in 2023, reaching the knockout stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time.
They have been nominated for the CAF National Team of the Year award in December 2023 in Marrakech, along with the men’s team, as a testament to their impressive performances.
Globally, Spain claims the top spot ahead of France, England, Germany and the USA.
