Several Moroccan exhibitors participated in an art exhibition held in Brussels this week, along with artists from various other countries, including host Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Italy.
The exhibition took place in the Molenbeek and Simonis de Koekelberg area.
Featuring creative works by Moroccan artists that impressed visitors and art enthusiasts, it showcased the beauty of the paintings on display.
The show also highlighted the exceptional artwork of the talented visual artist Said Ouattar, who captivated attention with his unique creations and the beauty of his work.
Critic and aesthetic researcher Driss Katir pondered, “The observer looking at the paintings of the artist Said Ouattar is presented with multiple faces and vibrant colors that suggest the strength of the distinctive colors of ecological nature lovers. These faces are neither realistic nor imaginary but rather refer to their in-between-ness.”
Katir pointed out that these faces carry secrets and hidden meanings in their features, emanating from nostalgia and remnants of dreams, hinting at what remained or lingered from bygone eras.
He elaborated that this is how the face intensifies the state of a person in its entirety, symbolizing respect, honesty, generosity, and friendship, as it is a sign and an icon. “The face, on the other hand, is a mirror, concave or limited, broken or intact, clear or foggy… reflecting what is in its essence and what surrounds it… reflecting shyness and pain, astonishment and wonder, humility, and dignity… its inner self is its essence,” he noted.
