A team from the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) conducted a search inspection at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca on Tuesday, focusing on the technical and commercial flight crews responsible for Royal Air Maroc’s AT 201 flight from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.
Inspectors uncovered a sizeable quantity of cosmetics concealed in the cabin baggage of two flight attendants.
Customs officers then examined the aircraft, which was grounded on the airfield’s runway (C25). According to the same sources, this inspection resulted in the discovery of a second quantity of cosmetics in the cabin.
Police and customs officials initiated a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding this development.
