Morocco’s national football team faced elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023) after a 2-0 loss to South Africa, in the round of 16, today at San Pedro stadium.
In the 57th minute, Evidence Makgopa scored the first goal, putting South Africa in the lead.
In the 90+5th minute, Teboho Mokoena sealed the victory for South Africa with the second goal, securing the qualification of Bafana Bafana for the next stage.
Morocco was knocked out from the competition after a good performance in the group stage, which included victories against Tanzania and Zambia and a draw with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
