The National Police (DGSN) inaugurated its new police station in the southern city of Es-smara on Saturday, coinciding with the 68th Independence Day.
The facility shows the DGSN’s resolve to develop, modernize and strengthen its structures to better serve citizens and foster their sense of security. It is also an illustration of the city’s urban expansion.
The police station boasts multiple services related to administrative and legal paperwork processing.
The city of Es-smara was the scene of four explosions that had rocked four neighborhoods early November, killing one person and injuring three. The blast was due to a projectile fall on a residential area, and many pro-polisario websites reported that the self-proclaimed “Sahrawi army of liberation” fired missiles at what it claimed were locations of the Moroccan armed forces.
