Global gaz prices have sparked criticism of Norway and the United States of America from 15 EU member states, including France, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Poland.
Media reports have revealed that these countries are calling for a cap on oil and gas prices.
At a business conference in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron said that EU countries should join Asian countries in asking the US and Norway to reduce the bill for gas exported to EU countries.
For its part, Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck disapproved through statements to a local newspaper of the demand that “friendly” countries, led by the United States, provide gas at ” illusory” prices to compensate for the halt in Russian deliveries.
The energy crisis continues to cast a shadow over Europe’s domestic situation, as Russia prepares to halt gas deliveries until the West countries lift economic sanctions.
