43 New Healthcare Centers Open in Morocco’s Eastern Provinces

Minister of Health and Social Protection Khalid Ait El Talib celebrated the opening of 43 urban and rural health centers in Morocco’s eastern provinces and regions on Tuesday at the rural health center of Bni Chiker in Nador.

According to the Health Ministry, four new urban and rural health centers have commenced operations in the Nador province, including the urban primary healthcare center “Farkhana” and the rural primary healthcare centers “Ouled Daoud” and “Bni Chiker,” along with the rural secondary healthcare center “Hassi Berkane.”

In the Driouch province, 11 urban and rural health centers of the first and second levels, as well as two rural clinics have opened. These include the urban secondary healthcare center “Ben Taieb,” and the rural primary healthcare centers “Azlef;” “Ait Mait;” “High Midar;” and “Ouardana.” Rural secondary healthcare centers “Kassita;” “Ijjati” (Ait Chokt); “Boudinar;” “Imassouden” (Old Amghar); “Tazaghine;” “Ain Zohra;” and “Isray” are now operational.

In the Guercif province, six urban and rural health centers of the first and second levels, as well as two rural clinics opened doors. These include the urban primary healthcare centers “Sidi Moha Ben Ahmamed” and “Nougd,” the rural primary healthcare centers “Houara” and “Ouled Bourima,” and the rural secondary healthcare centers “Saka” and “Taddart,” in addition to the rural clinics “Hassi Ouanazga” in the commune of Saka and “Safsafate Tirhza” in the commune of Tadart.

Ait El Talib also launched services for 11 urban and rural health centers In the Taourirt region, including the primary-level urban health centers “20 Août” and “Takadoume,” as well as the second-level urban health center “Debdou,” in addition to the first-level rural health centers “Tancharfi;” ” Mestagmar;” “Machraa Hammadi;” “Melg Ouidane;” “Bni Yachbel” (Ahl Old Za); “Oulad Amehmed;” “Bni Reiss;” and “Gteter.”

In Berkane, five health centers and two rural clinics have been opened to provide a variety of healthcare services to the population. This includes the first-level urban health centers “Moukaouama” and “Bouhdila,” as well as the first-level rural health centers “Dzayest,” “Chouihya,” and “Sidi Bouharia,” in addition to the rural clinics “Aain Zebda” and “Lamris” (Od Al Bali).

These healthcare institutions will offer a range of healthcare services and treatment options, including general medical consultations, blood tests, nursing care, chronic disease management (such as kidney failure, diabetes, and high blood pressure), maternal and child health monitoring, school health services, as well as health education, awareness, and promotion services.

These healthcare centers seek to enhance healthcare provision in the eastern region, particularly in the provinces of Nador, Driouch, Berkane, Taourirt, and Guercif.

The Health Ministry has mobilized specialized human resources to ensure the delivery of medical and treatment services to over 300,000 individuals with a focus on updating and equipping healthcare institutions with state-of-the-art biomedical equipment and facilities.
