Tetouan police, in coordination with Morocco’s Territorial Surveillance Agency (DGST), thwarted an attempt to traffic 12,000 psychotropic pills on Friday, according to security sources.
Officers arrested two suspects, aged 21 and 32, for suspected involvement in a criminal drug trafficking network.
Police arrested the men in a vehicle as they attempted to distribute the illicit substances. A subsequent uncovered a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from the illegal activity.
Both suspects are in custody pending further investigation under the prosecutor’s office.
