Morocco’s national team won the 27th Arab Cross-Country Championship, held on Saturday at the Dead Sea in Jordan, according to Morocco’s Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA).
Moroccan racers secured the title after an impressive performance, with 16 medals including seven gold, five silver, and four bronze.
The gold medalists were Hasnae Sadik (4 km/cadets), Saida El Bouzi (6 km/juniors), Oussama Redouani (8 km/juniors), as well as the Moroccan junior girls’ team (6 km), the cadet boys’ team (6 km), the cadet girls’ team (4 km), and the junior boys’ team (8 km).
Silver medals went to Sara Zahir (6 km/juniors), Mohammed El Mselet (8 km/juniors), El Mustapha Akkaoui (10 km/seniors), and the senior men’s and women’s teams (10 km).
The bronze medalists included Houssna Ben Abdelmoati (6 km/juniors), Ayoub Ziani (6 km/juniors), Fatima Zahra Kabel (4 km/cadets), and Yahya Loudad (6 km/cadets).
A total of 36 Moroccan athletes, including 18 women, participated in the championship.
Hosted by the Arab Athletics Federation, the competition brought together approximately 240 athletes from 13 countries, including host nation Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Algeria, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen.
