Angola is grappling with a deadly cholera outbreak that has killed 117 people, with 3,543 cases reported since January 7, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The outbreak has hit the capital, Luanda, the hardest, with 1,753 cases recorded, while the rest have spread across the country since the outbreak began in January.
Angola has been reporting over 100 new cases daily, since February 1, peaking at 295 infections on February 8.
In response, the Ministry of Health has launched a mass vaccination campaign, immunizing over 925,000 people—covering 86% of the target population—in an effort to contain the outbreak.
