The Royal Moroccan Navy intercepted a rubber dinghy carrying 41 migrants about 118 kilometers northwest of the port of Tan-Tan in southern Morocco on Monday, according to a statement by the Royal Armed Forces.
All the individuals on board were from sub-Saharan African countries. They were attempting to reach Spain’s Canary Islands.
Naval personnel provided first aid before transporting the migrants safely to a port at Tan-Tan. Authorities transferred them to the Royal Gendarmerie for further processing.
