After their Super Bowl LIX performance on Sunday, Kendrick Lamar and SZA announced new dates for what they are calling their “Grand National Tour,” that begins in Minneapolis, USA on April 19 and will conclude in Stockholm, Sweden on August 9.
The tour is the first all-stadium tour for both artists, and it springboards off of Lamar’s latest studio album GNX, which features SZA in two tracks, “Luther” and “Gloria.”
Lamar and SZA begin their tour in the Americas, performing in multiple cities in the US and in Toronto, Canada.
The pair will then perform across Europe, beginning with Cologne and Frankfurt, Germany, on to Scotland and England on July 8 and 10, then Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 19 in Wales, the 3Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, and other venues in western Europe.
The pre-sale for the tour will start on February 12 and general sales will begin on February 14.
Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday, dealt the finishing blow to his eight-month long feud with Canadian rapper, Drake.
He played multiple songs that took direct shots at Drake, playing the five-Grammy winning track “Not Like Us” and “Euphoria,” the first time any diss track has been performed during a Super Bowl Halftime show.
Another highlight of the show was SZA’s guest appearance. She has frequently collaborated with Lamar on multiple projects since the beginning of her career, and their performance left fans wanting more from the duo.
Afterward, SZA wrote on Instagram, “THANK YOU [Lamar] for consistently putting the world on your back. At all times.”
“Thank you for lifting me up. Thank you for encouraging me and being so willing to bend to whatever I may need,” she added. “You’re a prophet. But you knew that. I wasn’t nervous today. I was ready to rep for u. For US.”
