The Arab Sports Culture Association awarded the 2024 Appreciation Prize to Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), during a ceremony held on Sunday in Doha, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).
Lekjaa received the prize during the 5th Annual Congress of Arab Sports Culture, which took place under the theme “The making of an Olympic champion: from selection to crowning.”
This distinction recognizes Lekjaa’s significant efforts to develop national football, both in terms of training and infrastructure. These efforts have led to remarkable achievements, including Morocco’s national football team’s 4th place finish at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The prize also highlights the President’s important role within continental and international bodies in promoting the development of Arab and African football.
The Arab Sports Culture Association Award is one of the most important sports awards in the Arab world, aiming to consolidate the values of loyalty and appreciation for those who have made sincere efforts to serve Arab sports, as well as those who have made achievements and initiatives, in addition to encouraging promising Arab athletes.
