After weeks of speculation, Moroccan international player Reda Belahyane has officially signed with Italian football club Lazio. The midfielder traveled to Rome on Sunday to finalize the transfer, the club announced via X on Monday.

For several weeks, rumors circulated about Belahyane’s departure from Italian club Hellas Verona, with speculation linking him to various European leagues. However, the young defensive midfielder will remain in Serie A.

The 21-year-old will reportedly sign a contract with the Lazio club until 2029, earning an annual salary of EUR 1.2 million. While initial reports suggested a loan deal, Lazio ultimately secured a permanent transfer to Morocco’s national football team. Some media outlets estimate the transfer fee at EUR 9 million plus bonuses.
The talented midfielder debuted for the Moroccan national team in October 2024, further increasing his value in the transfer market.
