Marrakech police arrested a 43-year-old French national on Monday who was flagged by Interpol under a Red Notice issued by French judicial authorities, local media reported.
Preliminary investigations confirmed that he had been convicted by a French court for attempted murder and was subject to an enforceable sentence.
He has been placed in provisional detention pending extradition procedures, following Moroccan law and international agreements.
French authorities have been officially notified to begin the extradition process.
Morocco’s National Police said the arrest reflects the country’s commitment to fighting transnational crime and strengthening international security cooperation.
