Dutch Moroccan Kickboxer Badr Hari was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of assaulting his ex-wife, who is also the mother of his five children, according to Dutch media reports.
Police confirmed that a 40-year-old man had been taken into custody but declined to reveal his full identity. “The suspect is in a police cell, and an investigation has been launched,” a spokesperson told outlet “RTL.”
This is not the first time Hari has faced allegations of physical violence. In October 2015, he was sentenced to two years in prison for multiple assaults on fellow clubgoers during nights out.
Hari, who was previously in a relationship with Estelle Cruijff, was found guilty of attacking businessman Koen Everink at the Sensation White dance festival in 2012, in addition to other offenses.
