Snowfall at altitudes above 1400 meters, along with heavy, locally stormy rains, are expected to affect several provinces in the Kingdom on Sunday and Monday, according to Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) amber alert.
The DGM projected snowfall (10-20 cm) in the provinces of Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Taza, and Guercif from 06:00 to 23:00 (GMT+1) on Sunday.
The directorate also predicted snowfall (20-40 cm) in Sefrou, Ifrane, Guercif, Taza, Boulemane, and Midelt on Monday, from 00:00 to 23:00.
From 12:00 to 23:00 on Monday, snowfall (10-20 cm) would affect the provinces of Khenifra, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Hoceima, and Chefchaouen.
The DGM also expected heavy, locally stormy rains (40-60 mm) in the provinces of Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, and Mdiq-Fnideq. Rains (30-40 mm) also would affect Larache, Al Hoceima, Tanger-Assilah, Ouezzane, and Taounate, from 00:00 to 23:00 on Monday.
