The Moroccan national team claimed first place in the second Arab Championship for Mathematics and Logic Games (participating remotely) in the junior category (U14s) held in Tunis, securing three gold medals and one bronze medal, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).
Moroccan students Ismail Abkkari, Yahya El Ouafi, and Yahya Ajbar won gold medals, while Lina Laman claimed bronze.
16 Arab countries participated in the tournament, each represented by a team of four students. Members of the Moroccan team were selected based on their results in the National Junior Olympiad in Mathematics and the first Arab Championship for Mathematics and Logic Games, MAP said.
During the championship, participants take a single test involving logic, geometry, tiling, code-breaking, folding, and puzzles, with two hours to complete it.
The competition was held under the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO).
