Rain showers and scattered rainfall are expected to sweep across several regions of Morocco this Friday, according to the country’s meteorology agency (GDM).
The northern part of the Gharb region and the eastern Mediterranean coast should have significant rainfall.
Cloudy skies with occasional light rain are expected over the northern High Atlas, the Phosphate Plateau, and the Oulmes area. Snowfall is likely to cover the High and Middle Atlas mountains, and the high eastern plateaus.
Temperatures will drop significantly, with cold conditions persisting over the Atlas Mountains, the Rif region, §eastern Morocco, and the southeastern parts of the country.
Cold weather will also extend to the western plains near the Atlas. Strong to very strong wind gusts will affect the central coast, the High Atlas, the southeastern slopes, the Gharb region, and the southern provinces. Dust storms are likely in the southern provinces and the southern part of the Oriental region.
Minimum temperatures will range from -6°C to 0°C in the Atlas Mountains, 5°C to 10°C in the Atlantic plains and the extreme southeast, and 10°C to 15°C near the coasts and the southern provinces.
Temperatures in most regions will range between 0°C and 5°C. High temperatures will likely continue to decline in the eastern and southern parts of the country.
