The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has teamed up with “STATION F,” the world’s largest startup campus based in Paris, to foster innovation and strengthen ties between Europe and Africa, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).
Dubbed “NextAfrica,” the initiative would support and accelerate international startups looking to expand into African markets. It focuses on sectors such as Greentech, Agritech, and Healthtech, which align with UM6P’s priorities.
Under the partnership, UM6P will have a dedicated space with over 40 workstations at STATION F. Startups will have access to mentorship, funding opportunities, technical support, and privileged entry into African markets.
The program will leverage UM6P’s scientific expertise and extensive research facilities, providing startups with valuable insights from African researchers and experts.
Beyond operational support, the initiative will connect startups with key players in Morocco and Africa, creating opportunities for technological and business partnerships. Meanwhile, integrating into STATION F’s ecosystem will help startups accelerate their growth and strengthen their presence in European and African markets.
NextAfrica will select around 20 Greentech and Healthtech startups per year. The selected participants will have access to STATION F’s entrepreneurial environment in Paris while gaining direct access to UM6P’s facilities in Morocco.
“This alliance with STATION F reflects our ambition to connect African and European talent within an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Hicham El Habti, UM6P’s president said. “By combining our strengths, we equip startups with the tools they need to tackle Africa’s technological, economic, and environmental challenges while reinforcing the bridge between the two continents.”
“We are very proud to welcome UM6P to STATION F. This collaboration will strengthen key sectors such as Greentech and Healthtech while deepening our connection with Morocco, which is already the third most represented country at STATION F,” Director of STATION F, Roxanne Varza said.
