Moroccan coach Issame Charai has been appointed assistant coach of the Rangers, the Scottish Premiership club announced on Wednesday.
He joins the team in which Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane currently plays.
Charai arrives from Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, where he previously worked as an assistant coach. He also gained experience in Belgium’s Pro League before leading Morocco’s U23 team to victory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 43-year-old replaces Andries Ulderink in Philippe Clément’s staff. Ulderink left Ibrox for “personal reasons.”
The Rangers, currently second in the Scottish league, are preparing to face Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday. A positive result could strengthen their position among the top eight teams in the group stage and secure a direct qualification for the Round of 16.
