Moroccan international player Hakim Ziyech has decided to join Qatari club Al-Duhail instead of Al Nasr, Foot Mercato reported on Wednesday.
Ziyech reached an agreement with Al Duhail and will sign with the club after completing his medical examination. The move pairs him with teammates Benjamin Bourigeaud and Luis Alberto.
Earlier reports from Emirati newspaper “Al-Bayan” suggested that Ziyech had finalized all contract details with Al Nasr and was scheduled to arrive in Dubai within hours. However, Al-Duhail made a better offer, convincing the former Ajax and Chelsea star to change his course.
Al Nasr’s Dutch coach, Alfred Schreuder, pushed to bring Ziyech to his team, leveraging their past collaboration at FC Twente during the 2014-2015 season. Despite his efforts, Ziyech ultimately chose the Qatari side at the last minute.
Ziyech has struggled for playing time at Galatasaray this season, losing his starting spot and even being left off the bench in recent games.
