The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, said on Monday during the final tournament draw in the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat that Morocco’s logistics preparations are going full steam ahead for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Lekjaa said that Morocco is providing the necessary infrastructure, stadiums, training grounds, and other logistical elements required for the tournament’s success.
“The tournament will offer fans optimal conditions to meet their needs, making it a joyful celebration and a chance to strengthen bonds of friendship among African nations,” said Lekjaa.
He added that successfully holding AFCON 2025 will help Morocco achieve its ambitions for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Lekjaa revealed that Morocco’s King Mohammed VI is personally supervising the tournament’s planning, reflecting the King’s dedication to sports and his commitment to strengthening African unity through a shared vision, according to MAP.
Lekjaa thanked African football officials for entrusting Morocco with hosting this major continental event, describing it as a challenge the nation has embraced with seriousness and dedication.
“Morocco has long-standing ties with African countries in commerce, culture, science, and art,” said Lekjaa. Hosting AFCON is an opportunity to reaffirm Morocco’s commitment to its African partners in “striving for a shared future in sports and development.”
The final phase of AFCON 2025 is scheduled for December 21, 2025, and will continue until January 18, 2026.
