Taarabt, 35, just ended his contract amiably with Al-Nasr Club during the current winter transfer window. He had joined Al-Nasr in the summer of 2022 on a contract that ended in 2025.
This past season, Taarabt played 11 matches in the UAE Pro League, scoring seven goals and assisting three others. His performances demonstrated the skill and experience to make him a standout player in the league.
Taarabt brings a wealth of experience to Sharjah FC, having played in some of Europe’s most competitive leagues. He started his European career with Lens in France before moving to England, where he represented Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers.
The player’s time with QPR was iconic when he captained the team, taking it to the Premier League. Taarabt later moved to Italy’s AC Milan and Portugal’s Benfica, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile playmaker.
Sharjah currently leads the UAE Pro League with 34 points and is preparing for a crucial match on Monday in the semi-final of the UAE President’s Cup against Baniyas. With Taarabt’s addition, the team beefs up its roster as it eyes silver this season.
