The Moroccan cycling team “Sidi Ali Unlock” won the “Tour du Sahel” competition in Mauritania on Sunday, with a total time of 30 hours, 43 minutes, and 33 seconds. Another Moroccan team, “Agadir Velo Propulsion,” secured second place, finishing 6 minutes and 53 seconds behind.
Dutch team “Universe Cycling” finished third, 10 minutes and 24 seconds behind the leaders. Its rider, Stefan Verhoeff, claimed the individual title with a time of 10 hours, 12 minutes, and 11 seconds, narrowly beating Moroccan cyclists Anass Ait El Abdia by 7 seconds and Al-Hussein Al-Sabbahi by 15 seconds.
Moroccan cyclist Zouhair Rahil finished in fourth place, trailing by 1 minute and 9 seconds and the Dutch rider Bram van Herk of “Global Cycling” won the final stage.
Earlier in the competition, Moroccan riders dominated several stages, with Driss El Alouani of “Agadir Velo Propulsion” winning the third stage and Al-Hussein Al-Sabbahi claiming victory in the fourth stage.
