Moroccan cyclist El Houcine Sabbahi of Agadir Velo Propulsion finished first in the fourth stage of the Tour du Sahel in Mauritania on Saturday. He crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 32 minutes, and 31 seconds
Anas Aït El Abdia, representing the Sidi Ali Unlock cycling team, secured second place at the same time as Sabbahi in the 79-kilometer course.
Despite the impressive Moroccan performance, Dutch rider Verhoeff retained the lead in the general chart with a total time of 8 hours, 33 minutes, and 34 seconds.
He remains just five seconds ahead of Spain’s Francisco Mancebo, with Anas Aït El Abdia trailing by only six seconds in third place.
In the team standings, Sidi Ali Unlock’s team leads with a cumulative time of 25 hours, 49 minutes, and 57 seconds. Agadir Vélo Propulsion follows six minutes and 53 seconds behind, while the Dutch Universe Cycling Team holds third place.
The competition concludes on Sunday with the fifth and final stage in Nouakchott. Riders will face a 100.5-kilometer closed circuit, promising a dramatic finale to the Tour du Sahel.
