Moroccan poet Othmane Hichou Krabchi has advanced to the third stage of the prestigious “Amir Chouarae” (Prince of Poets) competition, the largest poetry contest in the Arab world, held in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
A panel of judges including Ali Tamim, Ouahb Roumia, and Mohamed Hajjou awarded him 47 out of 50 points, placing him ahead of Imad Abou Ahmed (46 points), Asmaa Hammadi (40 points), Abdesselam Said Abou Jahr (40 points), and Soura Allouch (38 points).
The competition offers substantial rewards, with the winner receiving AED 1 million (USD 272,200). Prizes of AED 500,000 (USD 136,100) and AED 300,000 (USD 81,600) will go to the second and third-place winners, while the fourth and fifth-place finalists will take home AED 200,000 (USD 54,400) and AED 100,000 (USD 27,200), respectively.
