Moroccan falconer Abdelkarim Ouasfi secured his place in the finals of the prestigious Qatar International Falconry and Hunting Festival, “Marmi 2025” on Friday.
The festival president Muteb Al Qahtani awarded the finalists and winners with a financial prize of 100,000 Qatari riyals each during a ceremony following the competition.
Ouasfi said he was excited about reaching the finals. “I’m thrilled to be part of this competition and ready to give my best in the finals,” he told reporters.
The Marmi Festival gathers top falconers from across the region, showcasing prized birds in a hunting competition.
The event highlights falconry as a heritage sport recognized by UNESCO as part of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage.
