Morocco’s national cycling team will participate in the 10th Sharjah International Tour, scheduled in the United Arab Emirates from January 24 to 28, as part of the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation’s efforts to promote the country’s cycling talent.
The team includes six Moroccan riders currently competing in the Gulf region: Mohcine El Kouraji (Al-Adalah Club, Saudi Arabia), Oussama Khafi (Al-Qadisiyah Club, Saudi Arabia), Adil Arbaoui (Al-Ula Club, Saudi Arabia), Salaheddine Marouani (Al-Shabab Club, Saudi Arabia), Youssef Bdadou (Al-Salam Club, Saudi Arabia), and Soulaymane Minoual (Yas Club, Abu Dhabi).
National coach Mohcine Lahsaini, who won the 2011 Tour of Morocco, will lead the team.
The five-stage race will cover more than 525 kilometers, including an 11.16-kilometer time trial on the third stage.
The 10th Sharjah International Tour features professional national teams from Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Greece, the Netherlands, China, Turkey, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Mauritius, Rwanda, and the host country, the United Arab Emirates.
