Moroccan police in Agadir, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested six individuals, including two women and two others allegedly with criminal records, and seized 105 kilograms of cannabis resin in the early hours of Friday morning.
The suspects are believed to be involved in drug trafficking, according to security sources.
Authorities stopped two suspects at the entrance to Agadir as they arrived in a light vehicle, a search of which uncovered a large quantity of drugs.
Further investigations in the Tilila neighborhood of the Tikouine district led to the arrest of four additional suspects, including the two women and the two supposed repeat offenders.
Police also confiscated another light vehicle and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from the drug trade.
The suspects are currently in custody pending further questioning and investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
