Morocco showcased its flourishing tourism industry on Wednesday in Spain during the 45th FITUR 2024 International Tourism Trade Fair, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
During its inauguration, Morocco’s Ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, highlighted Morocco’s pavilion at the fair. Benyaich touted Morocco’s “exceptional tourism offerings,” describing them as reflective of a country in dynamic development. Spanning over 700 square meters, the pavilion was graced by King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia, accompanied by other prominent figures.
“We were honored to welcome Their Majesties, who experienced a pavilion crafted in true Moroccan tradition, reflecting the country’s singularity as a destination,” Benyaich told MAP.
This year’s pavilion shines the light on the contrasting regions of Errachidia and Tangier, emblematic of Morocco’s cultural and natural heritage. The focus is on leveraging these regions’ assets to captivate an international audience and bolster Morocco’s tourism appeal.
Benyaich also noted Morocco’s record-breaking achievement in 2024, welcoming 17.4 million visitors, including 3.5 million Spaniards—a 36% increase compared to the previous year.
As a leading global tourism event, FITUR is a key platform for industry professionals to exchange ideas, strengthen business relations, and craft innovative strategies to drive international tourism.
