Morocco’s Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni signed an agreement on Wednesday with Omar Seghrouchni, President of the Access to Information Commission (CDAI) and the National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP), to transfer Morocco’s Transparency Portal for government and private institutions providing public services (www.chafafiya.ma) from the Ministry to the Information Commission. The agreement governs the technical and organizational aspects of the transfer.
The move is a “significant milestone” in implementing Law No. 31.13 on the right to access information which applies to all institutions specified in Article 2 of the law, according to a Ministry statement cited by Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).
The handover includes the platform’s current features, technical specifications, and six months of support and technical assistance to be provided by the Ministry to ensure a smooth transition.
The www.chafafiya.ma platform is designed as an interactive interface connecting various entities, including the Upper House, Lower House, public administrations, courts, local authorities, public establishments, and other public or private institutions tasked with public service missions. It facilitates citizens’ access to information by receiving and processing their requests.
