Morocco’s state and government officials gathered in Agadir to sign an agreement to construct the Agadir Atlantic Hub Dry Port. The event took place on Monday, during a ceremony led by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch.
The Agadir Atlantic Hub will span 100 hectares within the free trade zone of Drarga. As Souss-Massa’s largest logistical project to date, the dry port will feature storage and packaging areas, container facilities for both full and empty units, and spaces for administrative and customs operations.
The agreement involved several high-profile signatories representing state institutions and development agencies.
Transport and Logistics Minister Abdessamad Kayouh said the project is in line with a broader strategy to enhance regional infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, the minister highlighted the economic and social development opportunities the port will bring to Souss-Massa. “This initiative reflects the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and underscores our commitment to regional progress,” Kayouh stated.
In addition to the dry port announcement, officials inaugurated the Drarga 3 Industrial Zone, which spans 27.11 hectares. The ceremony also introduced Meditech Gloves’ new glove production facility, backed by a total investment of 461 million dirhams.
