France’s judicial court of Montauban will hear the trial of an organized criminal network on Monday for exploiting undocumented migrant workers for farm work, the majority of whom are Moroccan, French news outlet La Dépêche reported.
The case stands out for its large scale, involving two individuals identified as Aziz Z, 47, and Oualid R, aged 39, the same source said.
The men are also suspected of engaging in several other crimes, including illegal employment, document forgery, and money laundering.
The pair have reportedly amassed large, significant profits through their unlawful and exploitative practices.
The trial is expected to shed light on the sophisticated mechanisms employed by such organizations to take advantage of the precarious status of undocumented workers.
