Morocco’s Upper House and the Parliament of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday in Rabat to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic, political, and parliamentary domains, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
The agreement was signed by Mohamed Ould Errachid, President of the House of Councillors, and Evariste Ngamana, President of the CEMAC Parliament. The signed text highlights Morocco’s growing commitment to deepen international cooperation with its African neighbors based on shared values, solidarity, and historical ties.
The MoU underscores the importance of fostering economic and political relations between Morocco and CEMAC countries while promoting parliamentary partnerships, the same source said.
This collaboration aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise, enhance diplomatic engagement, and unify positions on bilateral and regional issues.
The agreement also underscores the pivotal role of parliamentary diplomacy in addressing global geopolitical challenges, strengthening economic and human development, and unlocking the vast potential for cooperation between Morocco and CEMAC nations.
To bolster the agreement’s objectives, both sides pledged to strengthen parliamentary relations by sharing experiences, holding joint training programs, and hosting seminars on shared interests.
