Morocco’s ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, highlighted the multidimensional relations between Morocco and Spain on Friday, ahead of the two nations’ co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Portugal, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Benyaich noted Morocco’s position as Spain’s third-largest trading partner outside the European Union, which reflects the depth of their economic relationship.
Morocco is home to approximately 1,000 Spanish companies out of the 20,000 Iberian firms engaged in trade with the Kingdom. These investments, valued at EUR 2 billion, contribute to the creation of around 20,000 jobs in key sectors.
The ambassador also pointed to the growing presence of Moroccan companies in Spain, including major players like the OCP Group, as evidence of dynamic economic integration. This collaboration fosters mutual prosperity and reinforces the economic interdependence between the two nations, the same source said.
“These developments reflect the growing importance and integration of Moroccan-Spanish relations, cementing a strategic, multidimensional partnership that contributes to the stability and prosperity of the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions,” Benyaich concluded.
