A Moroccan drone killed a high-ranking commander of the Polisario Front, Salamou Mohammed Fadel El Boubari, and two associates on Saturday in a targeted military operation in the Haouza region, in the Sahara territory, local media reported.
El Boubari had reportedly threatened Morocco in video recordings, declaring hostile intentions against the kingdom.
The strike also killed two other members of the separatist militia, El-Wafi Mokhtar Ahmida and Bibo El-Najm, both identified as key operatives within the Polisario’s ranks.
These individuals had reportedly been involved in several attacks and military actions in the region.
Reports suggested that the drone strikes were planned and precise using the Turkish-made TB2 drones. It is part of Morocco’s efforts to secure the buffer zone in light of openly displayed hostilities from the separatist group.
