Greek Club Aris FC secured the left-back Moroccan player Hamza Mendyl with a contract through June 30, 2026, and an option for an additional year, Greek media reported on Friday.

In 2018, Mendyl took a major step in his career when Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 signed him for EUR 6 million. During his debut season in Germany, he played in nine matches. Schalke later loaned him to Dijon FCO in France, where he recorded 20 appearances and scored one goal.
Mendyl continued his career with another loan move to Gaziantep in Türkiye during the 2021 season. There, he appeared in 23 matches and added one goal to his tally. Most recently, Mendyl suited up for Belgian side OH Leuven, playing 16 matches this season before completing his transfer to ARIS.
On the international stage, Mendyl has earned 20 caps for the Moroccan national team. He also represented Morocco in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
