Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita signed two agreements with Nardos Bekele-Thomas, Director General of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA/NEPAD), on Thursday in Rabat to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and the AU Development Agency.
The first cooperation is a Host Agreement to establish an AUDA-NEPAD National Office in Morocco. The second is a Framework Agreement to promote development projects of mutual interest.
Following the signing ceremony, Bekele-Thomas commended Morocco’s commitment to African integration and the country’s consistent support for the agency’s initiatives.
“The signing of the agreements is a concrete realization of the King’s vision for Africa, highlighting Morocco’s dedication to the African Union and the AU Development Agency,” she said.
Noting that the “Framework Agreement exemplifies Morocco’s support for the continent’s development,” Bekele-Thomas said that “AUDA-NEPAD will work closely with the Kingdom to implement the African Union’s Agenda 2063.”
