Ministers from around the Arab world attending the 24th Conference of Arab Ministers Responsible for Cultural Affairs on Wednesday commended the work of the Al-Quds Committee and Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif, under the chairmanship of King Mohammed VI, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).
The agency’s initiatives have significantly bolstered the resilience of Palestinians in Al Quds and contributed to protecting the city’s cultural heritage.
The ministers urged collaboration between the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, and Bayt Mal Al Quds. They called for an urgent action plan to address specific needs, including safeguarding Al Quds’ cultural identity and heritage, while supporting the dignity and resistance of its residents.
The conference attendees highlighted the importance of creating a robust networking framework to align the efforts of relevant institutions. They proposed well-structured programs with defined priorities and clear deadlines to strengthen collective action.
Presided over by Morocco, the conference also endorsed a Moroccan proposal to establish an Arab forum for cultural and creative industries. The initiative would foster collaboration in the cultural sector and tackle pressing challenges in the digital space.
In addition, the ministers announced plans to form an Arab coalition to negotiate with major international tech companies. The coalition would work to counter fake news, radicalization, and separatism by promoting high-quality Arab digital content.
