Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Gambia’s Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangar on Wednesday in Rabat, who brought a written message from Gambia’s President, Adama Barrow, to King Mohammed VI.
In a press statement after their meeting, Tangara expressed Gambia’s deep gratitude for Morocco’s support, especially in assisting during Gambia’s presidency of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the successful summit hosted by Gambia last year.
Tangara highlighted King Mohammed VI’s key role as Chairperson of the Al-Quds Committee, underlining the Moroccan monarch’s crucial contribution to the OIC’s success. He also commended the King’s ongoing initiatives as the Commander of the Faithful.
The officials also discussed bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional issues, aiming to align their positions on key African matters.
