Morocco remains Spain’s leading supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables, with exports amounting to EUR 801 million from January to October 2024, marking a 13% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to “Hortidaily.”
Spanish imports of fresh produce totaled EUR 4.1 billion during this period, with EUR 2.7 billion coming from non-EU countries (+12%) and EUR 1.39 billion from EU countries (+13%), according to data from the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department processed by Fepex.
Following Morocco, Peru ranked second with EUR 501 million (+22%), while France secured third place with EUR 426 million (+22%). Portugal and the Netherlands followed, with EUR 350 million (+19%) and EU 205 million (-3%) respectively.
In terms of volume, Spain imported 3.5 million tons of fresh produce, evenly split between non-EU (1.8 million tons) and EU (1.7 million tons) sources.
