Morocco’s National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ), in collaboration with anti-narcotics and border surveillance services (DOP, BOP/DRC), arrested Abdelhady Aziz, a French-Moroccan citizen, at Ennassim train station in Sidi Maârouf, Casablanca, on Tuesday. Aziz had traveled from Marrakech in a Range Rover, accompanied by his wife and daughter.
The arrest took place shortly after Aziz allegedly received a package containing 45 grams of cannabis resin and 20 grams of kif powder (a mixture of tobacco and cannabis). The person delivering the package was Noureddine Ghzaoui Bhiri, identified as a drug courier who had arrived in Casablanca earlier that day via high-speed train (TGV).
A search of Aziz’s vehicle allegedly uncovered an additional 15 grams of cannabis resin, three mobile phones, and 5,700 Moroccan dirhams in cash.
Both Abdelhady Aziz and Noureddine Ghzaoui Bhiri are now in custody pending further investigation. Aziz’s wife and daughter were released after being questioned by investigators.
