Moroccan star Said Taghmaoui narrowly survived the blaze after his home was completely destroyed following the devastating wildfires raging across Los Angeles since last Tuesday, which have claimed 24 lives, including 32-year-old Australian actor Rory Sykes.
Taghmaoui posted videos of his ravaged home, revealing he had no choice but to evacuate as the fire engulfed his neighborhood. Though he managed to salvage some items, he mourned the loss of his beloved bulldog.
Rory Sykes, a former child actor on the British show “Kiddy Kapers,” died of smoke inhalation in his Malibu cabin. His mother, Shelley Sykes, announced his death, describing her heartbreak and recounting futile attempts to save him when water supplies failed.
Supermodel Bella Hadid, of Palestinian descent, shared images of her childhood home in Malibu reduced to ashes. The Hadid family residence, along with properties belonging to Kylie Jenner, Paris Hilton, and other stars, were consumed by the flames.
Officials estimate over 7,000 structures were damaged or destroyed, with the Palisades Fire alone scorching more than 23,000 acres. Fire crews are racing to contain the blazes before the notorious Santa Ana winds, expected to peak this week, further intensify the devastation.
