Authorities at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport arrested a 32-year-old Turkish national on Sunday evening, following an international warrant issued by Turkish authorities.
The individual was apprehended upon arrival aboard a flight from Tunisia, according to security sources. A database check with Interpol confirmed the man was wanted under an official red notice on charges related to armed terrorist activities, with a sentence already issued by Turkish courts.
The suspect is currently in custody, pending his transfer to the next institution. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of National Interpol in Rabat, under Morocco’s National Police (DGSN), has been tasked with notifying its Turkish counterpart about the arrest to proceed with extradition procedures.
This operation underscores Morocco’s commitment to international security cooperation, particularly in apprehending individuals sought for transnational crimes.
