The Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) has called for a deeper investigation into the gang rape of a mentally disabled minor child, which resulted in her pregnancy and the subsequent birth of a child at Al-Salama Hospital in Kalaa Sraghna on Friday, local media reported.
In a letter addressed to the Public Prosecutor at the Marrakech Court of Appeal, the association detailed that the victim, a 13-year-old girl with mental disabilities, resides in Douar Oulad Salama in the Oulad Arad district of Al-Attaouia.
According to the AMDH, the suspects in the case are three men aged between 60 and 72. The association identified them only by their initials: A.M.J., M.T., and A.J.H. The AMDH said that the multiple rapes of the child constitute a “serious violation” of her human rights.
The organization described the incident as a “fully fledged crime involving the luring, repeated gang rape, and exploitation of a vulnerable minor with disabilities.” The AMDH stated that the offenses could also constitute human trafficking, torture, and both physical and psychological abuse.
The AMDH urged the public prosecutor to intervene promptly to ensure justice for the victim. It also called for strict legal measures to protect the rights of the victim, her family, and society, underscoring the need to end lenient sentencing and impunity in such cases.
