Marrakech’s tourism leaders gathered on Wednesday at the Regional Council for Tourism (CRT) headquarters to outline strategies for growing international visitor numbers, focusing on emerging markets in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
The meeting included CRT representatives, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), and key industry professionals. Discussions centered on diversifying the city’s tourist base, targeting regions with untapped potential, and launching dynamic promotional campaigns.
Participants reviewed Marrakech’s strong performance in 2024, with over 3.5 million arrivals, and highlighted the need to sustain this growth by exploring new markets and offering unique experiences tailored to travelers’ evolving expectations.
Key initiatives include bolstering connectivity through new flight routes and working with global travel operators to showcase Marrakech’s rich cultural heritage and world-class hospitality.
Officials also plan to enhance digital marketing efforts to attract a younger, tech-savvy demographic from these regions.
The CRT and ONMT are committed to aligning their efforts, creating synergies between public and private sectors, and improving infrastructure to accommodate an expected influx of tourists. Their shared goal is to make 2025 a record-breaking year for Marrakech’s tourism industry.
