Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants Al-Nassr to strengthen their squad before agreeing to a contract renewal, Sportskeeda reported. The Portuguese star’s current deal with the Saudi club expires at the end of the season, and he has yet to commit to an extension.
Ronaldo is open to staying at Al-Nassr but expects significant roster upgrades to help the team compete with top clubs like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad.
One specific player he has requested is Casemiro, his former teammate at Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The Brazilian midfielder, under contract with Manchester United until 2026, has struggled for game time under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Casemiro has made 22 appearances across competitions this season, scoring three goals, but he has started only four of those games. Reports suggest that Casemiro is no longer a key player at Old Trafford, and United may consider letting him leave this year.
Ronaldo and Casemiro have a history of playing together, with 122 shared appearances for Real Madrid and Manchester United, during which they combined for seven goals. Ronaldo is reportedly eager to reunite with Casemiro in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Nassr is reportedly considering a move for Casemiro, as his arrival would bring much-needed quality to their midfield.
In addition to Casemiro, Ronaldo is pushing for reinforcements in other positions, and the club appears willing to meet his demands.
This season, Ronaldo has been in fine form, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists in 20 appearances for Al-Nassr. Since joining the Saudi club in December 2022, following his contract termination with Manchester United, he has tallied 75 goals and 18 assists in 84 games.
