Air Arabia Maroc connected Nador’s El Aroui Airport to Rabat-Salé with a direct flight starting from Sunday, offering two weekly round-trip flights, according to Morocco’s Press Agency MAP.
Air Arabia Maroc’s Airbus A320 planes, with a 174-seat capacity, will operate the route twice weekly during winter, with plans to increase frequency in the summer.
The launch of the new route follows the January 9 opening of a similar route linking Oujda-Angad and Rabat-Salé. The initiative aims to enhance travel between the Oriental region and other parts of Morocco, fostering economic and tourism growth.
The service is part of two partnership agreements between the Oriental Region Council, Air Arabia Maroc, and the Wilaya of Oriental to strengthen air links with Rabat.
The agreements, supported by a MAD 24.3 million investment, will run for three years with the possibility of renewal.
Council President Mohamed Bouarourou highlighted the project’s economic and touristic benefits, particularly in light of the upcoming Nador West Med project.
The initiative also aligns with efforts to enhance the Oriental region’s attractiveness on both national and international levels.
